Convert WEBP to JPG
Convert WEBP images to JPG, the format every program opens.
Your data is never sent to any server.
The WEBP to JPG converter turns your WebP images into the format every program, social network and form accepts. It runs in your browser without uploading anything and converts one image or whole folders at once.
Why convert WebP to JPG
WebP is the preferred format of many websites because it is lighter, but outside the browser it still causes trouble: some older photo editors, viewers and official forms do not accept it. JPG is still the universal format for photographs, so converting fixes those cases at the cost of a slightly larger file.
Which quality to choose
| Quality | Result |
|---|---|
| 95 | Nearly identical, for images you will edit again |
| 85–90 | No visible difference and a good size: recommended |
| 70–80 | Lighter, for messaging apps or the web |

Frequently asked questions
Why do the images I download save as WEBP?
Because many websites serve their images as WebP, which is lighter than JPG. When you use “Save image as”, the browser saves the file exactly as it received it.
Do I lose quality going from WEBP to JPG?
A little, because the JPG compresses the image again. At quality 85 or higher the difference is not visible.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG does not support transparency, so they are filled with white. If you need to keep it, convert to PNG instead.
Does it work with animated WebP?
The first frame is converted. JPG does not support animation.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and your images never leave your device.
