Click Speed Test (CPS)
Measure how many clicks per second you can do in tests from 1 to 30 seconds.
Your data is never sent to any server.
The click test measures how many clicks per second (CPS) you can do. Choose the duration, click to start and press nonstop until time runs out: you’ll get your CPS, total clicks and your best score, which is saved in the browser for each duration.
Clicking techniques
| Technique | How it works | Typical CPS |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | One finger, pressing the usual way | 5–8 |
| Jitter | Tensing the arm so the hand vibrates on the button | 9–14 |
| Butterfly | Alternating two fingers on the same button | 12–20 |
The fast techniques are used mostly in Minecraft PvP, where every click is a hit. Jitter clicking is hard on the forearm and wrist: if you practise it, keep the rounds short and stop as soon as it hurts.
Why the 1-second test gives odd numbers
Over one second, a single extra or missing click changes the result by 1 CPS, and the time you take to get going weighs heavily. To compare with other people, use the same duration they did; 5 seconds is the most widespread.
How to use Click Test
- 1
Choose the test duration
Pick 1, 5, 10 or 30 seconds depending on whether you want a short sprint or an endurance run. The most common one for comparing scores is 5 seconds.
- 2
Click to start
The timer starts on your first click inside the play area, so you don't lose a single press.
- 3
Click as fast as you can
Keep clicking inside the area until time runs out. The counter shows your clicks and the seconds remaining at all times.
- 4
Check your result
When it ends you'll see your clicks per second (CPS), total clicks and your saved best score. Press “Try again” to beat your record.
Frequently asked questions
What is CPS?
CPS stands for clicks per second. It's the total clicks divided by the test duration, the standard metric for measuring click speed.
What's a good clicks-per-second score?
The average is between 5 and 7 CPS. Above 8 CPS is very good, and players using techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking reach 10 to 20 CPS.
Which test duration is best?
The 5-second test is the most used for comparing scores. The 1-second one measures pure instant speed, while the 10 and 30-second ones also test endurance.
Is my best score saved?
Yes, your best score is stored locally in your browser for each duration. Nothing is sent to any server and no sign-up is needed.
Does it count right-clicks or scroll-wheel clicks?
No, only primary mouse-button clicks (or taps on a touchscreen) inside the play area count.
