QR Code Generator
Create QR codes for URLs, text or WiFi to download or copy.
Your data is never sent to any server.
The QR code generator creates codes for a URL, some text or your WiFi network, ready to download as PNG or SVG or to copy as an image. You can change the colors and add a logo in the centre.
The codes are static: the content lives inside the image, so they never expire and do not pass through any middleman server. Many QR services create dynamic codes by default, which redirect through their website, log every scan and stop working if you stop paying for the subscription. These do not.
Before you print it
- Minimum size: as a rule of thumb, the side of the code should be at least a tenth of the distance it will be scanned from. To read it from a metre away, about 10 cm.
- White margin: leave clear space around the code. Pushed against the edge of a design or placed over a photo, it becomes harder to read.
- Test it with two phones: before printing 500 flyers, scan it with an iPhone and with an Android.
- Short URLs: the longer the content, the denser the code and the harder it is to read at small sizes.
How to use QR Generator
- 1
Choose the QR type
URL, free text or WiFi network. Each type shows its own fields and builds the content in the format phones understand.
- 2
Fill in the data
Type the address, the text, or the network's name, password and security type. The preview updates as you type.
- 3
Customise the look
Change the code and background colors and, if you like, add an icon in the centre.
- 4
Download or copy it
Save it as PNG or SVG, or copy it as an image to paste straight into a document or a chat.
Frequently asked questions
Do the QR codes I create expire?
No. They are static codes: the information is written inside the image itself, so they work forever, do not depend on any service and do not log who scans them.
Can I put my logo in the centre?
Yes, upload the image and it is placed in the centre. A QR code tolerates having part of it covered thanks to its error correction, but only up to a point: use a simple logo on a light background, and scan the code before printing it.
How does the WiFi QR work?
It stores the network name, password and security type in the standard format that iPhone and Android cameras read. When scanned, the phone offers to join without typing anything. If your network does not broadcast its name, tick Hidden network.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for screens, documents and social media. SVG if you will print it large, on a poster or a vinyl sticker, because it is vector-based and stays sharp however much you enlarge it.
Why does my QR code not scan after customising it?
It is almost always a lack of contrast. Scanners expect a dark code on a light background; with similar colors or inverted colors, many phones will not recognise it.
Is my data sent to any server?
No. The code is generated in your browser, so neither the URL nor your WiFi password leaves your device.
