Convert JPG to WEBP
Convert JPG photos to WEBP so they load faster on your website.
Your data is never sent to any server.
The JPG to WEBP converter makes your photos lighter so your website loads faster, with no visible difference. You can convert a whole folder of images at once and see how much you save on each. All in your browser, without uploading anything.
Why WebP for the web
WebP compresses better than JPG: at the same visual quality, the file is smaller. On a page with many photos, that means less data to download and shorter loading times, which your visitors notice on mobile.
| WebP quality | Recommended use |
|---|---|
| 85–90 | Product photos and hero images where detail matters |
| 75–80 | Article photos and galleries: the best balance |
| 60–70 | Thumbnails and backgrounds |

Frequently asked questions
How much smaller is a WebP than a JPG?
According to Google, which created the format, a WebP is 25% to 34% smaller than a JPG of equivalent quality. The tool shows you the real saving for each image.
Do all browsers support it?
Yes. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari have displayed WebP for years, so you can use it on your website without fallbacks.
Do I lose quality?
The WebP compresses the image again, but at quality 80 or higher the difference is not visible. If the photo was already heavily compressed, raise the quality a little.
Why optimize the images on my website?
Because images are usually the heaviest part of a page. Making them lighter makes it load faster, especially on mobile, and loading speed affects both your visitors' experience and Google.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser.
