How much space do I save going from PNG to JPG?
For photographs, the JPG is usually several times smaller. For screenshots or flat-color graphics the saving is smaller, and the JPG may show smudges around text.
What happens to transparency?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. To keep it with a light file, convert to WebP.
Which quality should I choose?
Between 80 and 90 for photographs. For screenshots with text, go to 90 or higher, or keep them as PNG.
Will it work for forms that require JPG?
Yes. Many forms and platforms only accept JPG or limit the file size, and converting from PNG usually solves both.
